Q4 Is Gift Voucher Season: What 10 Years of Hospitality Gifting Data Tells Us
For hospitality businesses, Q4 is the most important gifting period on the calendar. From Black Friday and Cyber Monday through corporate gifting and the Christmas rush, it brings together the strongest purchasing triggers of the year: gifting, value, urgency and convenience.
At OmniHyper, our gift voucher platform HyperGift gives us a unique view of this behaviour, built on 10 years of gift voucher transactions across hotels, restaurants, spas and hospitality businesses throughout the Pacific and further afield. It shows us clear, recurring patterns in when people buy, what they buy and who they buy for.
The Q4 pattern stands out. Our data shows businesses can generate around 50% of their annual gifting revenue during November and December alone.
The wider Australian market backs this up. Over the four-day Black Friday to Cyber Monday period in 2025, Australians spent approximately $1.5 billion online, with 3.1 million households making an online purchase. That is a period when shoppers are actively looking for gifts, experiences and value.
Q4 isn’t the time to simply have gift vouchers available. It’s the time to actively merchandise, market and sell them.
Q4 is not one campaign. Black Friday, Cyber Monday, corporate gifting, Christmas and last-minute gifting each bring different buyers and behaviours. Below are the key insights from our data for each, along with four free HyperGift Inspiration Guides to help turn Q4 demand into revenue.
Black Friday & Cyber Monday:
Turn peak shopping intent into voucher revenue
Black Friday (Friday 27 November 2026) and Cyber Monday (Monday 30 November 2026) mark the beginning of the Q4 gifting rush, and HyperGift data shows just how significant the opportunity can be. Gift voucher sales have historically reached around 10 times those of a typical Friday, while website traffic has increased by 1,000% or more. Around half of purchases have also been Christmas gifts, so Black Friday is the start of the festive gifting cycle, not an isolated sales event.
The opportunity is about more than simply discounting. Campaign timing, offer structure, urgency, voucher validity and how the offer is promoted can all influence the result.
Our free guide brings together the data, shopper insights and practical recommendations to help you build your Black Friday and Cyber Monday campaign.

Christmas: The biggest gifting opportunity of the year
Christmas accounts for approximately 35% of annual gift sales, making it a period that deserves its own commercial strategy.
The opportunity continues right up to Christmas Day, and instant e-voucher purchasing increases sharply as Christmas approaches, creating a valuable last-minute gifting opportunity. More than 40% of sales have occurred between 10am and 3pm, so time your emails and social posts to land in that window.
Our free Christmas guide explores who customers are buying for, what they buy, when they buy and how to prepare your gift shop and campaigns to capture demand.

Corporate gifting: Don't overlook Q4's biggest orders
Corporate gifting brings a different type of opportunity to Q4. HyperGift data has recorded average orders of approximately $500 when businesses purchased gifts for staff and $2,500 when purchasing gifts for clients, while 35% of corporate gifts in the analysed data were food and beverage experiences.
Making the purchasing process easy is critical. Dedicated corporate gifting pages, tailored products and private offers can help businesses turn existing corporate relationships into an additional gifting revenue stream.
Our free Corporate Gifting Guide covers the products that perform, how to structure your corporate offering and practical ways to take it to your corporate database and sales contacts.

Make the most of HyperGift: Turn demand into sales
Generating demand is only half the equation. More than half of gift shop traffic can come from a venue’s own website, and visitors arriving from the venue website are more likely to purchase than visitors from other sources. That makes the visibility and positioning of your gift shop a commercial issue, not simply a website consideration.
Gift vouchers should be visible across your website, email, social channels and venue. HyperGift also recommends beginning Christmas promotion from September, giving businesses time to build awareness before Q4 demand peaks.
If you haven’t started yet, now is the time. Our free guide provides practical examples of how to promote your gift shop across your website, email, social media and in-house channels.

Q4 success starts before the rush
The data tells a consistent story: Q4 represents an extraordinary concentration of gifting demand, but demand alone does not guarantee revenue.
The businesses best placed to capitalise prepare early. They have the right gift experiences, make them easy to find, promote them actively and have teams ready to convert interest into sales.
You do not need to build that strategy from scratch. Our four free Inspiration Guides bring together 10 years of HyperGift insights, practical recommendations, campaign ideas and examples to help your team make the most of the year’s biggest gifting period.
